Herald Street - Scaffold Access & Hoist Installation

Project Overview:
Archis Scaffolding was appointed to provide a complete scaffolding and hoist solution for a multi-storey residential development on Herald Street in Bethnal Green. The site’s location next to an active railway and its restricted ground-level access presented unique logistical and safety challenges that required careful planning and precise execution.

Our Solution:
Our team designed and erected a full scaffolding system across all elevations, incorporating full-height sheeting to protect workers and the public. Due to limited space for material storage and deliveries, cantilevered loading bays were installed at each floor, allowing safe and efficient vertical material handling. Additionally, an Alimak Scando 650 goods and passenger hoist, capable of lifting up to 2 tonnes, was integrated into the scaffold to ensure smooth movement of personnel and materials throughout the project.

Safety & Collaboration:
Working adjacent to a live railway demanded stringent safety measures. Physical barriers were installed, and all operatives were PTS-trained to comply with Network Rail safety standards. Archis Scaffolding maintained continuous coordination with the principal contractor and Network Rail, ensuring compliance with all regulations while keeping the project on schedule.
